The history of Hunter Boast follows Donald A. Hunter, who joined his father's company Hunter Boats in 1939. He began manufacturing boats for the department of national defense, building seven vessels for the navy between 1941 and 1945. He moved onto promotional materials working for the Sportsman show in Toronto, as well as other boatman shows in North America. After some time he purchased an American company and established Hunter Enterprise Orillia Limited, selling it in 1979.
