Collection: Books By Dave Town
David is a chiropractor with a passion for local history. Over the last 25 years he has researched and written 24 books and many more short stories highlighting events in Orillia's storied past. Other accomplished historians have covered many topics so David looks for new or forgotten episodes by scouring micro-fiched newspapers and delving into the minutia of the archives at OMAH and the Orillia Public Library. Some of his stories are concise, like the Orillia Riot of 1844, while others are long-term sagas, like the history of prostitution in Orillia. But every story is interesting, especially when presented in the context of its times.
