This is a glimpse into the lives of the early settlers and their families who were involved in the development of approximately fifteen miles of Orillia's shoreline on Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe, in the period between 1855 and 1985. They built sawmills, flour mills, refineries, distilleries, steamboats, hotels, factories, bridges and railways, all of which were instrumental in the development of this part of Orillia.
