Colin McKim was a reporter with The Orillia Packet & Times. Upon retirement, he returned to his first love— writing poetry. He felt his poems needed to be illustrated and went on a quest to find an illustrator. He saw Jim's work at The OMAH Shop in an art catalogue and knew he had to meet up with him.
Jim Ireland moved to Toronto from York, England, and had a successful graphic design career. Jim retired to Orillia with his wife Pat and has worked on his art, taught workshops at OMAH, and has been featured in multiple exhibitions
